Linux and Kubernetes Support will be added to Windows Server 2019
Microsoft announced the next update for Windows Server, which will be added at the end of this year.
A different operating system than Windows, 'Windows Server' is a system that basically connects computers on the same network. In this way, the computers in the network are managed from a single center and error correction, installation of new programs, such as operations can be performed more easily. The system started as 'Windows NT 3.1' after 2000 and started to serve in the corporate and private structure.
Windows Server will receive a major update at the end of this year. The system, which has added many innovations with the big updates it receives every 2-3 years, will get Linux and Kubernetes support this time. In addition, the new version of Windows Server, Azure backup, file synchronization and disaster recovery (a kind of data recovery method) will be provided with Microsoft cloud services. Microsoft's new cloud updates for companies will greatly simplify their work.
Microsoft also plans to reduce the size of Windows Server 5 gb to 1.7 gb. In this way, they aim to provide a more efficient workload with a smaller size. In addition to being compatible with Linux and Kubernates operating systems, Windows Server will also develop security procedures. With the Advanced Threat Protection feature added to Windows Defender, the security of the data will increase and the problems will be detected more easily.
Currently, Windows Server 2019 administrators are ready to test Microsoft's Windows Insider Program. According to Microsoft's plans, Windows Server 2019 will be available in the second half of 2018. In addition, Microsoft will announce more features and details about the new version of Windows Server in the coming months.
